Airlines to get new incentives for flying to Cyprus
Cyprus airports are ready to offer higher incentives to airlines to ensure improved flight connectivity and passenger greater traffic.
The Ministry of Communications and Works and airports operator Hermes Airports, announced the signing of their commercial agreement which regulates the incentive scheme offered to airlines.
The scheme covering the period 2018-2023 is offered to all the airlines that meet set criteria.
“Hermes and the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works have firmly supported the steady strengthening of the air connectivity of Cyprus, the introduction of new routes at Larnaca and Paphos airports, as well as boosting the country’s tourism industry,” said a joint statement.
It is hoped that through the implementation of the new incentive scheme a significant number of airlines will benefit, a fact that has contributed to the increase of flights from existing markets, the development of new markets and the strengthening of winter tourism.
