Moutallos

Paphos, Moutallos

Most people that opt to live here are local familiesas most villas that are available are on the more affordable side of the spectrum with the 14 townhouses that have being sold between 2018-2019 starting at EUR 90,000 up to EUR 140,000 with an average price of just above EUR 110,000, its noticeable too that this is an area where you’ll get more value for money having in mind that the average size of a property  is considerably bigger than those found in Kato Paphos or the city center.

This area proves to be a very popular area and a very liquid market when it comes to apartments with whopping amount of 131 apartment sales from 2018 until mid 2019, at a range from EUR 50,000 up to EUR 180,000.

General Info:

Found close to the old market in Paphos old town, we find Mouttalos, a village that homes the famous Mosque of Agia Sophia which was a former Byzantine church.

Mouttalos used to be home to both Turkish Cypriotand Greek Cypriots and  was neglected until recentlywith its infrastructure left largely untouched for decades. But now the central square is being renovated, the narrow roads upgraded, and a botanical garden has been created. The remodeling project costs 2.3 million euros and may cultural projects of 2017 have left Mouttalos looking revamped and updated. The village square has been pedestrianized, where you’ll find the village school, old-style traditional coffee shops and locals sitting in the wooden chairs in a relaxed atmosphere. Down the road there is a small supermarket, another well known shop you can get your fresh eggs from, a locksmith and a popular tavern named ‘’Ta Perix’’ that is usually fully booked, where you will find quality traditional Cypriot food at its best.

This is a very special area as it symbolizes the past and the future, with many projects already in this historical little village it has strong potential for a bright future.

There is a Lyceum and a nursery school, many bus stations, a couple of kiosks and it is 3 minute drive to the center or to the Tombs of the Kings area and within walking distance to both the Kings Avenue.
